Transition from satellite system to PeopleNet tablet

In 2012, DFS took a technological leap in terms of its truck tracking system, going from a satellite system to the PeopleNet tablet. Besides being a highly effective tracking tool, PeopleNet allows drivers to access a great deal of data in terms of their trip and of weather conditions.

It is also an excellent communication tool that provides a continuous link between DFS operations and drivers on the road, and allows drivers to send e-mails to their families. Therefore, even though the career of long-distance transport professional keeps drivers away from their homes for days at a time, this small tool seems to decrease the distance between people.
